LONDON CALLING

Florence Welch after ACNE show in London

So I am finally here, to tell you about my two day non-stop trip to London!

I really would have loved to stay more but couldn't cause of uni exams (this is really a hell of a month can't wait for it to be over!)

I've been tweeting like crazy so probably those who follow me on twitter or on THEBLOG fb page know almost everything!

I stayed in such a beautiful hotel in Soho... I swear I loved it!
Sincerely I'm not the one who's used to stay in hotels... I always have friends inviting me over so this time it's been kind of a new experience for me, to be all by my self in a big city as london!

I'm telling you guys, I felt SO ITALIAN walking those streets! ahah
I got there about lunch time and I was literally starving! I've been looking for a place where to eat something, but I swear that was impossible for me to chose one!

I think at times life is really fun cause while I was wandering like an idiot around Soho, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Tim (a model I worked with in Berlin like years ago!) and he told me of a nice place in Soho where to eat Tapas! So I ended up eating spanish food -.-"

I also want to say that I never really realized how London's nightlife is completely different from other european cities! I was quite surprised when I discovered that PONYSTEP party was starting at 19 and ending at 12!

I must admit that I was surprised also cause I really wanted to go to ACNE (which is one of my favorite) show, and it was at 20!

Well after two glasses of white wine I was already feeling better and more confident... ready to face the city!

I decided: first acne next Ponystep!

Obviously I ended up being late as usual, I grabbed a taxi at the last minute and fortunately in 5 mins I was there ready for the show!

Didn't have the chance to take nice photos so I prefer showing you the final walk from which you can clearly understand how amazing it was! I mean, at least for me... loved it!

After the show I just stay for a drink and a chat with so nice and amazing Florence Welch (from "Florence + the machine)... I'm a great fan of her...

...and her shoes!

After the show I grabbed another taxi and dash to Ponystep at Diner.

There I had the chance to meet Richard Mortimer who's been so nice and kind to me, I really want to thank him and all the people at the party who really treated me so kind! :)

AH! THE NEW DOLCEVITA...

Finally, after several weeks of hard work at the University I attend, I am free to take a well deserved vacation. Final destination: Cortina D'Ampezzo.

A long weekend of total relaxation, far away from loud parties, urban pollution and the daily routine, just me and my two friends, Enrico (who you'll be seeing more of next weekend in his new column Venice in the Sky) and Lilian, surrounded by the beautiful landscape of Dolomites. Even if we are not in Rome, the DolceVita lifestyle follows us at 2000 meters height between one slice of cake and a hot chocolate at the mountain hut and the dangerous downhill slopes along the most adrenalinic trails.
Far from computers and televisions we are free to be stupefied and left speechless by the breathe-taking views, like the one we saw after a long, relaxing walk in the forest, or the one with the red of the sky reflected on the almost frozen waters of Auronzo lake.

As fun as it is, it can be tough, the cold I mean. Even the most high-tech ski jacket can’t keep the cold at bay forever and warm up the Mediterranean spirit of DolceVita. Ski gear, sweaters and boots are fine, but the nylon shorts in my luggage remind me we still have a chance to swim, even in the mountains.

After spending the morning skiing (and freezing) above the clouds, there is nothing more reinvigorating than a swim and a hot Jacuzzi bath: where, in this small corner of paradise, it almost feels like summer.

A large brazier in the middle of the room warms the body and soul. I can see the immense snowy landscape that surrounds us, a sensorial oxymoron that you don’t get to experience often in the city. I have to say,
though, that the pseudo-hermit life here is challenging our urban-animal instincts.

So, here we are in Cortina downtown, the solution to our problems: lights, people, boutiques and cafes. The perfect time to quickly look at the “Cooperativa di Cortina” and stroll along Corso Italia, but we are already inside, sipping hot chocolate while outside it started to snow...
