When I get there I didn't expect it to be such a big event! Alongside the red carpet, dozens of photographers and behind a big crowd "struggling" to see what was going on....

I mean, I think I wasn't elegant enough... as usual!

I loved to see those ladies in pastel-colored Louis Vuitton dresses and metal pointed toe shoes.... they were actually pretty eye catching in the boring "total black" trend that reigned over the crowd!

After the apéritif d'inauguration of the great new store nearby Via del Corso, the party moved to another location... the ex geological institute.

For the occasion I got two of my ladies dressed up in Ravieli! ahah

The party was absolutely the coolest since long time! I had so much fun!!!

Hey people it's Andrea here... as you probably know (if you have been following me on twitter) I had to leave Milan earlier cause of uni exams :( I was so upset... Somehow I felt like I was going to miss a bunch of cool events... and that's what actually happened! Argh

So this time I'm like a follower of my own blog! I'm reading this for the first time and sharing it with you!

Let's read what happened while I was having the longest trip back home ever!

Since Andrea and Lilian are not in town anymore,

I take the chance to meet wonderful Eleonora ( ELEONORA CARISI)

we get to have a very very busy time through events, fittings, shows and parties

and this all happened in one day.

we started with Dsquared fitting, to Jonathan saunders launch of man collection, Versace show and backstage (the one I will talk about now) , Carine Roitfeld's aperitif on the rooftop of Armani Hotel,

Philip Plein private party, and then headed straight to hotel Principe.

We didn't stop a minute not even for eating, but it was worth it.

For the first time I get the chance to attend VERSACE show,

what Donatella suggests is an eccentric man, who escapes from stylistics constrictions.

Even though she wants to show a contemporary man, the guide lines still be very Gianni Versace,

that she plays in a modern key.

Materials are luxurious and precious, rich golden buttons and tuxedos studded with swarovski crtystals

I personally loved the reinvented camouflage with floreal fantasies, and the contrast between the red jackets with the greens, even though in the photos it looks more like a yellow, it s a bitter bitter green, which I love besides the red.

At a time lights low down and all the models go out with these crazy sparkling tuxedos, the atmosphere was very enchanting and influencing, it reminded me a little bit like the past Dolce&Gabbana women show where all the models were wearing those amazing stoned bustiers, but maybe even more glittering in Versace (well since the swarovski crystals were very small)

After the show we went backstage and had the chance to meet Donatella, and see al the capes really closely.

It was a shame that in the middle of show my camera shut down but hopefully Eleonora could take more pictures for me. Enjoy!!

At the beginning I thought I had more backstage photos, but now I realized that NO I DON'T. It must be cause I was too busy talking to everyone and trying to get one of the models' tshirts!

The good news is that I finally got one! I mean a friend of mine gave one to me :) thank you!!

FRANKIE MORELLO MENSWEAR F/W 2013

Here are my shots at Frankie Morello f/w 2013 show! Sitting front row, it's been much easier to capture some nice shots, so here they are... hope you like them!

The show's been clearly divided in three parts. Each part is very different from the other. The idea of evolution and change is pretty evident. The point of the whole collection is, in fact, to represent a kind of spiritual journey from materialism to complete elevation.

As if the whole trip took place in one night only, from dusk to dawn, the show starts with evening looks; jackets, trousers and sweaters covered in studs with metal details.

Looking pretty dark!

Gradually, the black fades to lighter colors and heavier fabrics to softer ones. Studs are now just a detail that slowly disappear.

The man gets out of the city, and starts the trip to his spiritual elevation. It all changes and becomes a touch more sporty with ethnic embroideries and details.

Every look evolves to a more simple and minimal look

.....getting kind of too minimal in the end

I personally liked the dark-city look at the beginning more. Does that mean I'm a "material boy"?

Well, after all, in the 80's Madonna taught us that we're actually living in a material world, so I'm actually not that worried.

I wish I could start this year with a more exciting post about my "Dolcevita journey" in Cortina (I know that's what you were all waiting for) but I'm afraid you will have to wait a little longer for that :P

I'm writing this short post just to let you know that I'm fine and that I had an amazing holiday time on the mountains! The new year has just started and I'm already freaking out, trying to cope with uni duties and exciting events like Men's fashion week....

Unfortunately I couldn't take part in the super fun "FIRENZE4EVER" party organized by Luisa Via Roma which took place last night cause as soon I got back I was already working working working!

I absolutely have to finish it all before leaving for Milan, on friday 13th!

I'm full of energy and I really want to make things right :)

Hi everyone! here a few photos of these last days in Venice...

How not to take a walk by the seaside on a wonderful winter sunny day?

Feels so strange to see it totally empty, it seems yesterday it was summer when I used to come here with friends and it was so so crowded!

But no drama! I'm leaving for the mountain tomorrow, celebrating the new year's eve in Cortina d'ampezzo... I haven't really hung out these days, I'd rather stay warm at home working on a spicy surprise for you my dear followers :) I hope you will appreciate

After that we stopped by the supermarket to buy some stuff for dinner... I can't resist buying microwavable junk food every time I'm far from home and mom's not there to cook a healthy meal! (I think she'd kill me if she only knew!)

Of course I got some bread and salami as well... My dope!

Enrico's Birthday

Last night was Enrico's birthday!

Lately he moved from Rome to Venice so we haven't seen in a while!

We were all so happy to have the chance to celebrate altogether =)

We met after dinner and waited for midnight to open a bottle of sparkling wine and rise our glasses for Enrico who turned 24!

There was such an intimate, friendly, lovely warm atmosphere...

Today it's still Enrico's Birthday (22nd Dec) so I take the chance to wish him all the best again ...

Let it snow!

Don t I love Xmas magic! Tonight we met for a little intimate dinner with friends at Lilian s place and we were all so happily surprised when, while drinking hot tea, we started seeing snow flakes pouring down covering everything in white in a few minutes...

It really felt like in the movies, cause we were actually listening to xmas songs. Yeah we all really feel the xmas mood haha

You might think its not that unsual, but for us it actually is...cause I had never seen so much snow in a sudden...in my town!

For the very end of 2011 here's sneak peek on Jeremy Scott 2012 Adidas collection… Hate it, or love it, that's the point of the matter, and well, I love it. I like to mix and match, and the sporty eccentric detail in my outfits is one of my favorite.

JS Wings shoes still make their way into the collection, one being in total denim and the other one with the american-flag motif. JS still doesn't give up on his "beast mood" … Take a look at the t-shirt wearing gorilla sneaker!

As usual the elements of the collection are simplified and maximized at the same time… Fluo colors, animalier patterns and as a new entry the typical "three-lines" of adidas become a music sheet, with music notes all over…

Rocking a very strong "American style" with humor and the usual outside the box creative mood, some pieces are really going to be objects of worship…

Lately I'm being so busy with uni, working on several projects... No time to rest, but it's fine! All my days are full, but it feels ok, makes me feel alright with myself... :)

So it's monday again, weeks are passing by so quickly, and it's almost Christmas... No time to go shopping for presents!

Did you know that the Christmas eve eve (the 23th) is the busiest shopping day of the year?

No way I can avoid the Xmas eve final rush! Every year the same...

Review - MARRY THE NIGHT -

Well so here it is finally....

In my opinion the "prelude pathétique" is far more exciting than the actual video... but I think the overall thing is cool

I particularly like the ending part of the video... exactly from min 12.45 with all situations showing up randomly and the car explosions...

For I like to do things right, now that I got myself into this stuff, I felt the need to google for some clearer explanations about this video/song... Couldn't find much so far but some kind of comedic interpretation!!

I think the heart of the matter is learning to accept the darkest part of ourselves, of our past. Marrying it.

At least this is how I interpreted it : "Marry the night", don't be afraid of your past, make it your best friend, your wife/husband... the rest is all ahead, shake it up... be a fighter, always!

Our past has made us the person we are today... so it can't be that bad after all!

Maybe this is how lady Gaga made it to where she is today!

I'm still doubtful about one thing tho...

Anyone knows anything about this "gummy bears and a knife" thing?

Reportedly longer and more autobiographical than ever, all the fans are freaking out, waiting for the video of her last single MARRY THE NIGHT.

13 minutes telling the moonrise and the upcoming marriage with it.

Great expectations revolve around this new video, less focused on special effects or unprecedented clothing this time. The history of the worst day of her life, distant from what she has become.

Here's the Dolce&Gabbana Jewellery video by Giampaolo Sgura starring Bianca Balti and Simone Nobili. I think it's amazing. I love Bianca and the way she play the part of the typical sicilian woman of the middle twentieth century that carefully gets ready for her lover...

Compared to Monica Bellucci, who's been the curvy protagonist of many Dolce&Gabbana adds, I think Bianca looks pretty different but still great into the shoes of a sensual woman of southern Italy... Don't you think?

Somehow, maybe due to my Sicilian origin (the golden chain I often wear is from my Sicilian granpa!), I feel really attracted by this kind of atmospheres and cultural context...

It really makes me want to say ITALIANS DO IT BETTER!

If you follow "The new dolcevita" on swide.com you might have already seen some shots about our Sunday morning walk in Milan...

It was my bday... the day after the Hallowood party (<-click here to check the previous post about it)

I think "HUNGOVER" it's clearly written all over my face in these photos ha!

We got up in the early afternoon (Considering that we went to bed like at 7 am after the party, I don't think it was too late) terribly hungry!

We quickly threw on some clothes from our messy attempt at organized luggages, and dressed up to go out for a sweet sweet "breakfast".... and of course I couldn't leave my camera home! It was my bday after all and I wanted to have some nice shots to remember such a happy time with my beloved best friend Lilian and lovely Marco who invited us over....

The other day I was looking for a old project I made for uni last year. I switched on my desktop pc (which i haven't been using for a while, since I use my macbook all the time) and started browsing all my personal folders... For I wasn't busy enough (-.-) I ended up snooping around all the old photo albums I had organized by date...

I spent almost a whole afternoon checking out every single folder, recalling such happy times... I'm sure you know how it feels when watching old photos somehow you appreciate them much more!

Autumn in Rome

Hello people! Here in Rome the weather it's still so beautiful,even if days are getting shorter and the weather slightly colder, it's still pretty warm!

I think this kind of weather is the perfect one to make nice autumn outfit without wearing a coat! For me it's far better not to have too many clothes on... I like comfy outfit you know!

HALLOWOOD PARTY 2011

As I promised, here are some shots I took at Hallowood party in Milan.

This party is one of the coolest during Halloween time! It's thrown (in part) by Fashion photographer Giampaolo Sgura and it became a yearly event in Milan.

When Giampaolo personally invited me I was quite flattered, and since I had heard of this party many times before, I knew everybody would have taken the matter of the costume-code very seriously.

This year the theme of the party was "MYTHOLOGY" . After a hard time trying to choose the right costume, I went for some kind of "Ares look" that turned to be ACHILLE to everybody else haha!

After a couple of phone calls to Swide we pieced together our look complete with a couple of special items from Dolce&Gabbana...

When we entered, the mix of glorious mythological costumes created blissful confusion as to who lay beyond the mask. A guessing game ensued; who was who? who was what?...

I actually received these shoes quite some time ago but never had the chance to take some nice shots with them on...

Firstly I wanna thank Athletes World for inviting me to choose my favorite type of their exclusive Adidas shoes (It comes in three colors: grey,black and brown) and sending them to me as a gift :)

This pair of shoes was designed exclusively for Athletes World on occasion of the Sept Fashion week (I've actually been wearin them during Milan FW)

If you know me a little bit you know I can be quite predictable about colors... I'm a real black lover, that's why I've chosen the Blue/Black ones!

Even if I like to have some classy pieces for special occasions, when I dress up everyday I have a such natural inclination for a easy-going, effortless and comfy look.

Do you remember the post I published a few days ago, the one about the mysterious Maison Martin Margiela box? Well I'm sure all of you seeing that 22 on top already know it is a pair of shoes... but what pair? Keep reading...

When Run in2 sent me these shoes as a gift I was really flattered... I must admit that at first I wasn't really sure they could fit my style, but as soon as I tried them on, I realized how much I liked them!

Since my favorite photographer&friend and colleague from Swide.com was in town, I caught up with him to shoot some really nice photos... For the location I went for a familiar and beloved place I never really showed you,my hometown Ariccia.

Was such a beautiful day and the light was perfect to take some shots in front of the pantheon in the main square. Not everyone knows that the whole square was projected by Bernini... Timeless beauty isn't it?

I think that beauty, real beauty, belongs to timeless proportions and shapes... Doesn't matter what form of art you're talking about....

For it wasn't enough celebrating my birthday in Milan at Hallowood party (lol) as I got back to my city my closest friends welcomed me back with a lovely surprise home party at Antos' place...

It really feels like I've been celebrating for a whole week, but nothing compares when it comes to share it with best friends...

All my ladies know I love super high heels so they pimped their look up for the occasion :)

The whole thing was "secretly directed" by Antos who put up a lovely buffet with finger food and lot of white wine...

But the best part was when the lights went down and one of them came out of the dark with a beautiful cake with 21 candles on top... cutieeeesss *-*

I would have never expected Antos to smash his slice of cake on my face... he caught me by surprise... AGAIN!

I really want to thank everyone for this special night... and for the amazing presents :)))

I was invited to Bruno Mars birthday party held at

Gold, the official restaurant of Dolce & Gabbana, the party was taking place right after

his concert in Milan.

I get there with wonderful model Michela D'angelo who decided to wear one of the first dresses

I made in 2009.

I think this dress looks stunning on her, love black with blond hair.

We arrived on time, there was Yigit Thuran (Dolce&Gabbana PR) at the entrance with the bouncers...

we straighlty get in.

Champagne glasses everywhere, familiar faces around, such a nice feeling to feel home.

We bump into our friend Caterina Gatta , talented italian fashion designer ...she's a real sweetheart :)

This is Greta Arienti and I (she's the first friend I had in Milan!!! ...when I met her I was just 16, she's like my god mother) <3

ByeBye summer #3 - The sailboat journey

This is the third and last issue about summer... Even if it's still not really cold, we're actually in autumn and I'm starting feeling more like "I want to get a new amazing coat" if you know what I mean (and I'm sure you do!)

I'm an incurable romantic, that's why I couldn't resist posting these photos of our three day sailing journey. Given that it was still so hot, it was impossible to survive in the city (seriously), we escaped for a while and jumped on a sailboat for a relaxing weekend, yearning for catching those last rays of sun, which we were meant to be.

left early morning and spent all day sunbathing and playing in the water...

Checking out our iPhones, we found out there was going to be a "fish festival" in a little town by the sea, which we could be easily reach by the evening...

We finally got there, in this small town called Marano

We enjoyed taking a fresh shower and some nice photos before getting ready to go out!

We were so happily surprised when, while wandering down the street, we bumped into a couple of friends!

Ooohhh don't I love little town festivals! With all the nannies going crazy for group dances! ahaha and it's so lovely, the way they teach you every single step if you just look at them like, "OH MY GOD I CAN'T DO IT! PLEASE TEACH ME HOW".

I mean, it's so fun to look at them and actually realize they're soooo fashionable at times! It's like "look, she's so PRADA...look, she's so GUCCI... look, she's so DOLCE&GABBANA... and so on! I enjoy silly comments yeah, but at times they really do fit in the look and they can be inspiring as well!

Well, now it's time to say goodbye summer.
It's not that hard to do though...

I've got sweet memories to keep me warm inside and some brand new coats and jackets ready to help me face the upcoming cold weather so...

Have you ever had the impression that you’ve never really cherished the great moments enough and that you've been living in the past?
I think you can understand how it feels for me to see these photos...

That's exactly the kind of feeling that comes every year when, after a beautiful vacation,
you go back to your ordinary life and during the day you drift away in a daydream,
recalling happy memories...

Here, we were waiting for the boat to go to San Marco and wander towards Campo Santa Margherita... The sky was so colorful, the big red sun going down behind the dark outline of Venice...

I just couldn't pick just a few of these photos, I mean, I think them all deserve to be seen.
Love my ladies from all over the world! Africa, sweden, spain...They're like my own personal muses :)

Then we got on the boat.. .

The sun went down so fast, and when we got to San Marco it was almost dark..

Perfect mood to look for a nice place to have dinner...

(that tasted sooo good!)

After dinner we caught up with friend in Campo Santa Margherita, and started drinking spritz spritz and spritz... and spritz...

iD party video + ALBERTO GUARDIANI CONTEST #2

If you're a fashion designer (and you're going to participate this contest) you have probably already done what I'm going to suggest everyone to do ...

but if you're just a shoe lover I think you might find useful to follow this little advice (I will follow too) ...

Get to know as much as possible about the story of the brand and the most "famous" pieces of the last collection (which I have personally seen at the showroom)

As you all probably know every brand has its own identity, so try to respect it.

This doesn't mean you have to copy what has been done in the past or in this last collection (OBVIOUSLY), just try to "target the perfect costumer" in order to create something that is not just the practical result of your idea, but a fashionable (and marketable) product.

I think there are billions of creative people in this world, but quite a few of them are capable of taming their creativity. Please believe me I'm not judging anyone, I mean, for me it's the same. At times it's pretty hard to make market and creativity get along together, but I think finding your own way to do that is what makes the difference in the end... at least this is what I've learnt so far! :)

So let's go back to the point... In this case it's not hard to identify the jewel in the crow of this collection (since it all started from that) and if you have read the "ID + ALBERTO GUARDIANI CONTEST" post you already know what I'm talking about: the lipstick heel.

Lucio's Birthday party

We got there on time, cause you know home parties never last until late (especially in Rome!)

After having climbed quite a few stairs in this beautiful apartment building in the very centre of Rome, we got in Lucio's flat... as soon as I got in I noticed the stag horns over the door and the moose ones on the left. I love it! Don't you?

All the apartment looked pretty nice acutally... That was easily predictable tho...

what should we expect from a fashion designer?

It's been nice to see all those people I haven't seen in a while...

Everybody went on drinking, talking and laughing until Ann and I started djing with our Iphones (We were pretty drunk already - I think the photos show ahah)

We started to the rhythm of Hercules and Love affair's last album and ended up with Lady Gaga and Beyonce's hits... It turned out to be a real dance floor!!

The party is over... I clearly can't drive home. I stayed at Ann's place.

The day after, before going home, even if I was still hungover, I noticed a nice pair of shoes at Pifebo (the most amazing vintage shop in rome!)

Well, I bought 'em.

Dolce&Gabbana Show

On sunday morning there was Dolce&Gabbana show @Metropol.

I OBVIOUSLY got there at the last minute,

cause somehow I can't make it when it comes to being early. ---

I was really impressed when I got inside and found out what I should have expected once unfolded the "postcards invitation"... (Look at the first one!)

Lots of divas among whom the beautiful Scarlett Johansson, in my opinion the perfect image of a Dolce&Gabbana woman! (so bad I couldn't take better shots!)

And then the show started and I was amazed when I realized every postcard was like literally part of the collection... And the music, oh I loved that, couldn't stop singing it in my mind! Felt like a river of top models coming out in such amazing south-italy 50's inspired looks. No need more explanations, I mean just watch it...

And the final parade? LOVED IT.

And now.... MODEL OFF! it was crazily crowded outside the Metropol! I mean I was freaking out trying to take some nice shots...

Ok this is not a Model but I mean... fabulous ADR in Dolce&Gabbana!

Well and then I saw H E R coming out.

It all started when I was invited to iD + Alberto Guardiani party in Milan during this last fashion week. There I had the pleasure to meet Elisabeth, digital pr of Alberto guardiani.

We shared a talk and she told me about this cool contest launched by Alberto Guardiani and iD magazine: All professional designers or just women's shoes lovers are invited to participate sending their sketches by 11.11.11!

The idea of this contest was born by the success of the "lipstick heel" which conquered the heart of millions of women all over the world, among whom Katy Perry and Sarah Lerfel owner of Colette in Paris...

Alberto Guardiani is now looking for a new It-shoe and it's giving the chance to everyone to design it. The prize is not bad at all!

"This incredible success has led to Alberto Guardiani joining forces with i-D to launch a worldwide competition to find the next It Shoe, one capable of repeating the Lipstick Heel’s remarkable performance. The competition has been named ‘Cinderthriller’, a title which epitomises the feminine concept and the thrill of the search.

The competition is open to aspiring shoe lovers and designers internationally, launching during Milan Fashion week on Thursday, September 22nd, and continuing up until midnight November 11th."

So what are we all waiting for?
